Salus at Drexel University students were betting on having a good time, and that’s exactly what they got at the University’s annual Salus Soiree 2025.
The theme of this year’s event, held Jan. 31, 2025, at The Vie in Philadelphia, was “A Night at the Casino,” and featured casino tables such as blackjack, roulette and poker that helped create an exciting and interactive experience for attendees.
The planning committee included Brittney Cullen ‘27AUD, chair of the Campus Activities Committee and executive vice president of the Student Council, and Kristen Battista ‘27AUD, executive president of the Student Council.
“It was a blast! The event had a lively atmosphere, and everyone was really getting into the spirit of the evening,” said Cullen. “It was a fantastic opportunity for students to let loose, mingle and have some fun outside of the usual academic grind.”
She added several fellow students approached her during the event to offer compliments on how great the evening was.
“Everyone appreciated the chance to dress up and enjoy the night in Center City with friends. It was a perfect way to break from the routine and enjoy the city together,” she said.
Cullen said the casino games were a hit and could sense the energy in the room as students tried their luck. “It’s clear this is an event that everyone looks forward to every year,” she said.
Planning the event was a collaborative effort and included securing the venue, organizing the casino-style entertainment, coordinating the catering, arranging the music and photography and designing decorations to bring the casino theme to life.
The menu featured a variety of foods, including hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, three buffet stations and a Viennese dessert station. A DJ kept the energy of the evening high while attendees enjoyed documenting highlights in a photo booth.
