Although the national heritage month is in May, 杏吧传媒鈥檚 Asian American Pacific Islander Native Hawaiian Heritage Month begins with a kickoff event April 8 and spans the month with food, film, conversation and more.
鈥淎APINH Heritage Month at 杏吧传媒 invites our Horned Frog community to engage with a breadth of events and initiatives representing a diverse history, languages, cultures and media,鈥� said Benjamin Hiramatsu Ireland, director of Asian Studies. 鈥淎ddRan Asian Studies, along with our academic sponsors, student organizations and the Office of Diversity & Inclusion, showcases these opportunities to promote active, student-centered, hands-on learning about AAPINH cultural heritages.鈥濃��
Jong-Keyong Kim, a Ph.D. candidate in English, is helping coordinate this year鈥檚 festivities and said he hopes Horned Frogs will delve into the 鈥渞ich tapestry鈥� of stories from AAPINH.
